Gunter PauliGunter Pauli (born 1956)


has established his reputation as an author and entrepreneur.

  • As president of the fraternity AISEC he came to know Aurelio Peccei the founder and former president of the Club of Rome in 1978. In 1979 he followed his invitation to the annual meeting of the Club in Salzburg. Aurelio Peccei became his mentor and entrusted Pauli with the development of the youth program of the club which was know as the Forum Humanum.

  • In 1984 Gunter Pauli was invited by Dr. Bruno Kreisky to become a member of the Bruno Kreisky commission of employment in Europe.

  • In 1991 Pauli organized a very successful Mozart Year in Belgium and Japan and was honored for this by receiving the “Goldene Medaille des Landes Salzburg”.

  • As time went on Gunter Pauli founded several undertakings, lived in France, Sweden, the USA and Japan and was active worldwide. In 1994 he initiated the Zero Emission Research Initiative with the support of the Japanese government and the UNU (Tokyo). He developed a business model that supports less waste and emissions and that has already been established as a standard in Japan. The theoretical deliberations, supported by almost one hundred professors, were later amended by pilot projects that demonstrated the usefulness of every single proposal.

  • During the last four years Gunter Pauli concentrated on the identification of innovations that could change the prevailing economical business models. Due to a variety of entrepreneurial initiatives we could develop a new economical macro model over the next ten years that creates employment positions, establishes social funds and guides economy and society in the direction of sustainability.
